If I’m Right, Does That Make You Wrong?

If I am right, does that make you wrong?  No, but it does separate us.

One Response to “If I’m Right, Does That Make You Wrong?”

  1. As humans we are taught at a very young age about “right” and “wrong”. What we are taught and what we learn is based on the beliefs, morals and values of those who teach us. As we mature (well, physically at least), our views may conform to those we have learned from, be polar opposite, or a mosaic of both. If I am color blind and someone says to me, “The sky is blue” and I reply, “No, it’s green”. Who is “right”? From my perspective, the sky has always been green even though it’s different from the “norm” perspective. Once I can accept that not every one sees the sky as green, I can let go of the control and have faith that we can agree to disagree. Acceptance means that we see the world as it is, not as we want it to be. Acceptance also guides us towards faith. Faith is believing. Faith is about giving up control of outcomes. Once I have acceptance and faith, my separateness will diminish.
